The overall foreign direct investment stock of Saudi Arabia has reached $293 billion (SAR 1.1 trillion), due to structural changes in the economy of the Kingdom, improvements in regulatory efficiency, and the high level of investors’ trust in the country due to the Vision 2030 reform programme, stated in a research paper published by W7Worldwide Strategic Communications Agency.
The document titled “Why Investors Choose Saudi Arabia: Investment Appeal and Future Growth Opportunities” states that more than 676 global multinationals have obtained legal permits to open their Regional Headquarters in Riyadh. This significant achievement is an indicator of the success of government policies, business regulations, and financial incentives aimed at attracting the best international companies to establish their regional offices in Saudi Arabia.
According to the findings, annual investment performance demonstrated remarkable momentum, with new inward FDI flows reaching SAR 133.3 billion ($35.5 billion) over the year. Concurrently, Saudi Arabia’s non-oil activities recorded a real GDP growth rate of 4.9 percent, demonstrating steady, tangible progress in diversifying the Kingdom’s national economic base away from traditional oil revenue reliance while expanding private sector output and employment across high-priority commercial sectors.

Key structural catalysts behind this sustained investor influx include modern legal frameworks, accelerated digital transformation across government ministries, simplified corporate registration procedures, and robust regulatory protections for foreign capital. Furthermore, targeted government initiatives—such as dedicated special economic zones, flexible corporate tax privileges, and prioritised state procurement opportunities—have collectively established the Kingdom as a highly competitive global investment destination.
Looking ahead, Saudi Arabia remains strategically positioned to consolidate its status as the leading commercial, financial, and technological hub in the Middle East and North Africa. As capital commitments toward national giga-projects, industrial expansion, and advanced technology sectors continue to expand, the steady accumulation of foreign direct investment stock reinforces international market trust in the Kingdom’s long-term economic vision and structural transformation.
