Registration of the students at Makkah School in southern Gaza is now open, thus making way for the much-needed return to formal education of young Palestinians who have been unable to pursue their education due to conflicts in the region.
Run by the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (KSrelief), the institution seeks to rebuild damaged social infrastructure and provide educational continuity in the area. Administrative teams from the Saudi Center for Culture and Heritage, which is the main local implementing partner, are handling the application process to get ready for the coming school year.
During the initial period of operations, the new educational institution will house 1,000 boys and girls with 32 teachers and administrative staff on board.
Project coordinators have outlined future expansion plans designed to scale total capacity to roughly 4,000 students, ensuring broader access to secure learning environments tailored to academic, social, and creative development.
The educational project operates as part of a comprehensive humanitarian campaign funded by Riyadh to alleviate severe hardships facing displaced populations. Alongside school operations, the broader framework integrates community relief programmes, including large-scale hot meal distribution through central relief kitchens operating in heavily affected sectors.
To facilitate registration, administrative centres have begun welcoming parents to complete essential paperwork, verify student credentials, and receive orientation regarding available academic resources.
