The cabinet of Saudi Arabia has made a series of 15 decisions covering areas ranging from investments to artificial intelligence, housing, international cooperation and governance during a meeting that was chaired by the Crown Prince and Prime Minister, Prince Mohammed bin Salman, in Jeddah. During the meeting, regional developments were also discussed, and a commitment to diplomatic actions geared towards tension reduction in the region was made.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Crown Prince updated the ministers regarding his recent meetings with several world leaders, which included: US President Donald Trump, King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, President Ahmed Al Sharaa of Syria, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey, and Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sánchez.
The talks focused on regional developments, bilateral cooperation and the importance of dialogue to reduce escalation and promote peaceful solutions.
Among the key resolutions, the Cabinet approved a new Government Tenders and Procurement Law, adopted the statute of the International Center for Research and Ethics of Artificial Intelligence, and endorsed a range of agreements with partner countries. These include cooperation with Ecuador, an investment protection agreement with Kazakhstan, a civil aviation memorandum with Spain, maritime transport cooperation with Somalia and a space collaboration agreement between the Saudi Space Agency and Türkiye’s space agency for the peaceful use of outer space.
The Cabinet also approved a housing initiative allowing investors to develop planned land and build homes for beneficiaries of developmental housing programmes in exchange for ownership of a share of the land. In addition, it extended by one year the deadline for correcting the status of undocumented real estate transactions, a move expected to provide property owners with additional time to complete legal documentation. Financial institutions licensed by the Ministry of Investment were also authorised to conduct approved cross-border financial activities through their regional headquarters in the Kingdom.
Ministers welcomed the International Monetary Fund’s latest assessment highlighting the resilience of the Saudi economy, citing the impact of Vision 2030 reforms, sound fiscal planning and continued economic diversification. The Cabinet also praised the achievements of the Pilgrim Experience Program and reiterated Saudi Arabia’s commitment to humanitarian work, including preparations for the fifth Riyadh International Humanitarian Forum scheduled for next April. The meeting concluded with approvals of several senior government promotions and administrative decisions.
