This integrated ecosystem of security solutions and applications of artificial intelligence and digital services has been showcased by the Saudi Ministry of Interior at its strategic participation at the LEAP 2026 technology expo in Malham, which is located in the vicinity of Riyadh. The opening of the pavilion of the ministry revealed how the Kingdom is moving towards becoming a smart security system rather than individual security systems in its command centres, on its public roads, and in its communities.
The showcase provided by the ministry is a reflection of the bigger vision of Saudi Arabia of updating its security infrastructure through data analysis and digitalisation. Through transforming itself from being reactive in handling incidents into being more proactive in monitoring and surveilling potential threats, the country plans to enhance public safety and emergency response, among other goals.
At the heart of the exhibit is a comprehensive framework comprising six interconnected core systems: field security and safety, rapid response, traffic safety, security cameras, digital services, and institutional support. Together, these core pillars encompass 36 specialised projects and services. Field technologies featured prominently include autonomous surveillance drones, specialised explosive ordnance disposal robots, body-worn operational cameras, and the “Sprinter” mobile smart security checkpoint. Ministry officials noted that integrated artificial intelligence models now process continuous real-time data to extract actionable operational indicators, empowering field commanders and leadership to make accelerated, high-precision decisions during critical scenarios.
Highlighting the scope of the Kingdom’s digital infrastructure, the ministry pointed to major advancements across its service platforms. Field personnel are actively leveraging platforms like “Maidan Companion” for dynamic situational awareness, alongside AI tools such as “Absher Companion”, which streamline automated transactions with high completion rates. Furthermore, public security branches showcased integrated data repositories for traffic accidents and violations, alongside micro-mobility solutions like electric scooters deployed for localised patrol duties.
Ministry leadership emphasised that technological deployment ultimately centres on serving human needs, providing security personnel with enhanced tools while delivering streamlined, contactless services to the public.
